About

Hi. I'm Yun Zhen. And this is sort of my blog/blogshop for accessories hmm.

Basically, I do this all in my free time, which I unfortunately do not have a lot of. Basically, it's about making paper origami stars into wearable accessories, although I do dabble in other stuff some times.

I usually sell most of the acessories I make, although I like to keep some, for myself. ;D So this place serves as a place where I can show off stuff I make and sell them too. I also have fun naming them. :D But I guess it's more fundamental function is for me to keep a record of everything I've made.

Why Catch the Falling Star?

Have you ever heard the song, "Catch a Falling Star"? It goes "catch a falling star, and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away". And it was a song I continually listened to when I was young and young. (I secretly thought it was a nursery song.) But then I grew up and found out that it is a very very old song by Perry Como. It goes way back to the 60s. Regardless, it's my favourite song and I think it's a very meaningful song. It's a song to listen to in rainy nights and gloomy days.

And since young, catching falling stars have been my childhood dream.

So one day when I woke up and wrapped wires around paper stars, I accomplished my dream. It may just be one of my life achievements.

And making paper origami stars into stuff you can wear is the foundation of this site. But paper stars are not my only obsession, okay?

So why Catch the Falling Star? I don't really know. Perhaps it's because that's where everything started. With a song that went "catch a falling star, and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away".

And then so why Catch the Falling Star?

I don't know.

Perhaps each falling star is something we desire for, or want to achieve.

Perhaps it's hope we need, or reassurance we want.

Each falling star is something special to each of us. Each of us have different falling stars we want to catch. And so perhaps, what we end up catching, are the falling stars, stars we wanted to catch.

Catch a Falling Star necklace II

Well, this actually came from 213's ACP. The glittered stars had nothing to do with me, but we had a whole shoebox full left and lots of string, so I made this makeshift necklace thing for everybody in class I could find on the last day of school. ;D Might I just add, the glitter is dazzling.
